Prompts = Nonsensical, Mentor, Sprint
I remember my early training as a Professional Comedian. I attended Nonsensical University, the premier centre for mining comic gold.
One professor was something of a mentor to my class. She had this ability to connect funny to funny; none of us could breathe seconds after she started. She encouraged us to take chances, to think outrageous thoughts, and to comedy like no one was watching.
‘Each of you can has the ability to take another step towards discovering your comedic selves!’, she’d say daily. And then she’d lean over to me. ‘You’re sprinting. Maybe pump the breaks a bit?’
