Audition + Waiting For The Right Conditions (2 Fer Tuesday)

Felt, Customer, Delivery

Story 1 — Audition

Raymond stood on stage drenched in sweat. His fifteen minute monologue (part Greek tragedy, part vaudeville) left his audience (the producers and director of a new play) speechless.

‘I wanted to capture the pure feeling of life and portray it in a way in which people can relate. My delivery may have been more impassioned than anticipated, and I can understand that lesser talents would leave you wanting more, but you said the performance needed to be felt.’

‘Actually, we said you’d be a felt salesman and you’d be talking to a potential customer. We’ll get back to you. Next!’

Story 2 — Waiting For The Right Conditions

Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.

Ramona couldn’t remember when she’d heard the unofficial motto of the US Postal Service, but she felt it called her to effect deliveries to customers in bad weather. In fact, it inspired her to thrive in the worst of conditions.

But what about glorious ones? There was no mention of being stayed by the lazy warmth of a day while laying out on the beach, maybe even going for a swim.

Work could wait until “the gloom of night”.
