‘Recline. Relax. Let your mind wander.’
According to my counsellor, I demonstrate a remarkable about of mundaneness. This wouldn’t be a problem in an ordinary family, but in a family tree where children are predisposed to precociousness, I’m a bit of an aberration. My parents are insistent there be a continuity of remarkable progeny. Because I’m an only child and they are wealthy, they’ll move heaven and earth to see to it: tutors, lessons, and therapy with someone who’s a combination of educational strategist and psychologist.
I hope today’s session ends soon; this eight-year-old wants to play Minecraft.
