Prompts = Dancing, Trombone, Cactus
Rachel sat in the chair, listening to her father’s dying breaths, his final words echoing in her head: “Play your trombone in the heart of the desert at midnight of the summer solstice. It’s your turn now.”
She had no intention of doing any such thing; he’d always been a bit daft, but this was too much.
The weird thing was, after he passed, every succulent in her hometown of Phoenix, Arizona looked at her in excited anticipation.
Eventually, she gave in. Why fight it? But this’d be no serenade; she’d have the cacti up and dancing with the aloe.
