The great poet, Maxwell Armageddon, stood at the lectern, stern, imposing. The room, awash in his saturnine bearing, waited breathlessly for his first words from his not-yet-published newest book of verse.
‘Before I reveal my newest work, I have an announcement to make. Some may find it distressing. You have been warned.
‘My career has been based on deconstructing the world’s foolishness. It has, it must be admitted, diminished me. Don’t bother to disagree; I know it to be true.
‘My newest work seeks to embrace frivolity. Thus my newest volume, entitled “Unicorns And Kittens And Red Ribbons”.’
