The frail figure coughed weakly. ‘My parents called me “Clarence”. Call me Dhino Rhino.’

‘Fine. I’m not sure anyone will pay to read your autobiography.’

A sigh. ‘Look, Clarence…’
‘Dhino. Let’s not sidestep the issue — you think this is fiction?’
‘Frankly, wall to wall, like carpet.’
‘Fine. What’s the advance on a fictional work?’
