Prompts = Violin, String, Comparison
It’s a rare performance that delights this reviewer to the degree that Masha Wilson’s violin concert did last night. It was a magical night; given what I experienced, this probably isn’t hyperbole.
During her encore, a string broke. She continued playing with three strings and was magnificent.
When the second broke, she was masterful.
When the third broke, she was virtuosic.
When the last string broke, I can’t describe what I experienced beyond saying the bow moved, resin flew, and I was surrounded by the most exquisite music imaginable.
I fear all future performances I attend will pale in comparison.
