Prompts = Tense, Expensive, Savvy
The fruit seller looked shrewdly at the obvious tourist. The tourist held the oranges almost possessively, not understanding a word the stall owner said.
A pink plastic calculator appeared in the seller’s hand, a proposed price on the screen.
The hungry tourist, savvy to the ways of street venders, waved the price away; at that price, the oranges were much too expensive. A lower number was typed on the calculator.
A tense negotiation broke out, numbers exchanged back and forth before both parties found a happy medium.
The vendor made a sale. The tourist saved 24 cents in his currency.
