Story 1 — Friar Peabody
Friar Peabody looked around worriedly, seeing movement all around him. His donkey plodded along the forest path unconcernedly. The Friar envied the donkey’s ignorance; bandits lay in wait somewhere, an ambush laid. Desperate degenerates, living in the muck of their sinful ways. A village, lost to the ways of truth and goodness, dirty and barefoot with not even a pair of shoes among them.
He stopped the donkey, thoughtful. Maybe people like that needed someone like him.
He turned the reluctant donkey off the path. A twig scratched his cheek; a sign, perhaps, of hardships to come.

Story 2 — Frittering
‘I’m Julie and this is Cooking With Julie on Savanah, Georgia Public Access TV. On today’s episode, I’d like to scratch the surface of how to pair the appropriate fritter to your occasion du jour.
‘Banana, zucchini, apple: they’ve been done to death. You need to think outside the box, girlfriend, to up your fritter game.
‘Think about carrot or corn fritters for that Kentucky fried steak. Or crab or oyster fritters at the fish fry.
‘And remember: fresher is better; old muck makes mucky fritters.
‘My last tip: serve with a splash of panache; it helps everything taste better.’
