Frank Cappuccino, known to Dispatch as Bicycle Patrol 51, had been first on scene at the house and was now helping keep the small curious but peaceful crowd back. Homicide Detective Pierce called him over.
‘You always think you’ve seen it all, then this…’ Pierce shook his head.
‘Weird, right? Like something out of Lewis Carroll.’
The Detective nodded. ‘The tea party with poison. But why?’
Frank nodded. ‘It’s elaborate, you gotta give it that. Some intrigue to brighten your day.’
Pierce stared at him. ‘Keep it under your bicycle helmet chapeau, but I hate mysteries. I need a drink.’
