Prompts = Frolic, Magic, Muffle
Young women danced and frolicked around the imaginary bonfire. The dancing and frolicking were part of the magic they were casting, radiating peace and joy for the coming year. The imaginary bonfire was part of not burning down the apartment building; a short-notice severe weather warning had forced the ceremony indoors this year. Undeterred, the celebrants’ full-throated songs pushed the energy inside the apartment ever higher.
And the long-suffering roommate in the next room crammed her pillow over her head, trying to muffle the sound. She complained to herself that “some of us need to work tomorrow!”
