Government employees didn’t used to upsell products, but with budget shortfalls across the country, we need to do what we can to raise money. And earn our commissions.
‘Hello sir! I see you’re interested in getting your passport renewed.’
‘Entirely right. I just want the basics.’
‘I totally understand. But keep in mind that if you add a biometric sample to the document, it’ll be much more secure. Just a simple swab for some cheek cells!’
‘Just the basics. Please.’
‘Can I interest you in insurance?’
‘Well… sure.’
‘Excellent. We have some lovely passport case colours for a small fee…’
