‘Can’t you tell? I’m being productive.’
‘Really? I thought you were sitting quietly in a dark room staring at a blank wall.’
‘Exactly.’
‘Maybe you and I don’t understand the word the same way. When you’re productive, you’re doing something useful.’
‘Yes. That’s what I’m doing.’
‘And what, pray tell, is so useful about doing nothing?’
‘Would you say that performing maintenance on a piece of equipment counts as being productive?’
‘Yeah…’
‘This is maintenance on my wellbeing. It’s productive non-doing.’
‘Does it work?’
‘Blissfully well.’
‘Slide over. I want to be productive too.’
