“Mr. Chairman, I’d like to make a motion.”
Every other committee member’s head, all twelve of them, dropped.
“Steve? Really? It’s almost midnight. Can we just call it a night?”
“No! My constituents demand action on this issue and I am willing to fight until I get what I want!”
“How about I offer you five minutes to say your piece and then we table discussion until our next meeting. How’s that?”
“You just want to sweep this under the table! Whisked away! People want to know that garbage collection will happen late Sunday night and not early Monday morning!”
