Cold, Sing, Occupy

It was supposed to be an overnight ferry ride across the North Sea. A rogue wave made the trip a tad longer and a whole lot wetter.
Crowded lifeboats, lit with softly glowing LEDs, became the only land for miles around. I helped keep mine close to the others; it helped ward off the cold and kept me occupied while waiting for rescue.
Just my luck, there was an Eternal Optimist in my boat. She insisted on singing Broadway show tunes. For hours. I still can’t see a musical without seeing her face, rousing us to another round of “Memory”.
