‘What’s all this?’ The tiny bespectacled centenarian, dwarfed by the enveloping lounge chair in Sunny Glens Nursing Home, shivered as the news crew set up for her interview, her yellow knit blanket draped over her lap.
When all was set, the interviewer asked, ‘How does it feel, living over one hundred years?’
‘Fine. I’m a little tired today, but fine.’
‘Is it true you were part of a mercenary company involved in several campaigns in Africa and South America in the 1950’s and ’60's?’
She tried to deflect. ‘Goodness, dearie. What a thing to say.’
‘We have photos.’
