Prompts = Consolation, Generous, Ugly
It was generous of him — breakfast in bed because I wasn’t feeling well. Thoughtful. And if not for the richly abundant burnt smell, it probably would’ve tasted better.
He said he’d cleaned up before leaving for work — that was a consolation. But intuition said things weren’t quite right.
Which is why a trip to the washroom included a detour to the kitchen. The sink was empty — good. But the drying rack was too. The oven, however, was full with both dirty dishes and rank smells.
I may feel terrible but things are going to get ugly when he gets home.
