Story 1 — A Scam In Pink
‘Hello folks! Welcome to The Wild Bill Hickok Flamingo Preserve of Greater Minneapolis. I’m so glad to welcome you here today so that you can help us support us caring for these enigmatic, exotic creatures. We value your patronage! The money you spend today goes in their bellies tomorrow!

Story 2 — The Sinking Palace
The locals called it El Palacio Que Se Hunde, or The Sinking Palace. Senior El Cortal was the first Spanish settler of any means in Florida and he sought to build a copy of Ribeira Palace in Lisbon, Portugal. Turns out it was too grand; the land swallowed it less than fifty years after its completion.
El Cortal’s first foray into decorating the house didn’t go well either. Maybe it was a sign! The first artist under El Cortal’s patronage insisted he could paint wildlife. Instead, he painted skies with a few pink dots, insisting they were flamingos in flight.
