‘Who’d like to begin? Dr. Weber?’
‘I’m working on a problem: the design of a space vehicle that will achieve near light speed almost instantaneously. To propel it to that velocity, I propose an initial massive explosion from a lunar launchpad. However, the effects of such a blast could, according to my detractors, cause the Moon to hurtle into the Sun, which is utterly ridiculous; the worst that would happen is the fracturing of the Moon into several pieces.’
‘Designing evil plans, doctor?’
‘Not really. Besides, I can’t get the funding needed to make it work.’
