Story 1 — Kindergarteners Again?
She was known as “the Principal” and “Mrs. Rufus” by the students of Eastland Elementary. She prided herself on being well-dressed, wearing suits to work everyday.
Aside from being an administrator, she was a very capable teacher, often stepping into any given classroom when a substitute was needed. She wasn’t afraid to get her hands dirty.
She told herself that as she stepped into the kindergarten classroom for the day’s lesson which included learning capital letters by finger painting. No smock ever invented could have protected her fine clothes from splatters.
All her dry cleaner said was, ‘Kindergarteners again?’

Story 2 — Auditing, Vegas-Style
‘Hey Bobby, what happened?’
‘Got audited, that’s what. Dragged down to some marble building in the capital. Confronted by a suit-wearing judgemental bureaucrat tapping his pen at me while demanding to know about line some such on form umpdeesquat.’
‘That’s terrible!’
‘You know what would’ve made it better? Being treated like a guest, is what. Remember that trip to Vegas? Why can’t it be like that? Serve free booze! Tell me to bring my tax money and gamble it at the table. You know I’ll lose it, but at least I’ll have some fun.’
‘Bobby, you’re on to something.’
